A wayra sequence
Brief spring
Stark black of winter
has bloomed, unfurled, verdant green.
Wind blows warm across the fields
where buttercups tremble,
their bee-full gold unveiled.
Already the wind
from the south mutters, sand-scourge,
desert veils the orange sky,
uneasy birds shuffle,
watching bright rills shrinking,
and the mild spring sun
waxes fiery, burning orb,
pastel green spring wilts, winces,
blossom scatters, snow white,
scorched brown by the wind’s touch.
We seem to be moving in the opposite direction…(K)

It all seems cranky to me.

It’s certainly disconcerting.

It’s hot today. And going to get hotter over the weekend. Everything looks beautiful now that the new green and yellow is taller than any of the dead stalks from last year.

We actually saw a little sun today in the afternoon, although it’s still cold.

It’s lovely here. There’s a wind from the south full of sand that casts a veil over the sky, but it’s warm and green.

We actually had a bit of blue sky an hour ago, but the clouds have returned…

I wanted to take a video of the dogs running. I rarely think to take photos and never to take videos. But they’re already pleading too hot to move out of the shade.
