Wishes

I would have wished a day of bluebells,
Buttercups, daisies, the sky alight
With the brilliant nacre of seashells,
A fiery sea where gold wheat grows.
I’d have wished a day of casting spells
On the wooded hills where red deer drift,
Silver salmon-glint in holy wells,
Of lighting stars to set in the night,
Not this cold day of bidding farewells.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. No. I thought just after posting that I should have said it’s not Trixie. We’ve had son staying. He is Trixie’s human, and as soon as he arrived she started eating again. For the next couple of days she ate well. He left yesterday afternoon, and a few hours later Trixie came out from under the kitchen table where she’s lived for almost a month, and went looking for him. She hasn’t eaten since 😦

    1. The change was so sudden. She went from only taking liquids before he arrived to eating everything he gave her, cheese, egg, beef, chicken, tuna… then when he left we found her in his bedroom, just wandering around when she hadn’t come out from under the kitchen table for almost a month. Don’t anyone tell me they don’t know or care.
