The Oracle gave us both sides of the goddess–the Empress for me, the High Priestess for you. Both are sorely needed to counteract the rampant god-worshipping destructiveness and death running rampant now. (K)

The values that the Goddess represented are lost now, I’m afraid. The warlike male god is too like the capitalist imperative to be changed for something kinder.

Such a tragic story–told with beautiful imagery. I love the hands as fluttering white doves. The Oracle always knows.

Humankind seems to have made a speciality out of tragedy. We get it right, just once in a while, then some warrior comes along and spoils it.

There’s no reason to suppose that aliens would have made a better job of things though. If they’ve got to bee top species and developed sophisticated technology, they might well be just like us. It’s an awful thought…

We generally assume that aliens would be hostile, invaders. Probably because that’s how we would behave. But we might well be right.

I heard a biologist talking about our ideas of what an alien would look like, the tentacles and weird sensory appendages etc etc and he said that if you look at human beings as top species in an oxygenated environment with gravity, we have developed in the most logical way, walking upright, hands with opposable thumbs, eyes that face forward, ears at the side of the head. He reckoned that any alien from a planet similar to ours, would look more or less human.

Well, other worlds may not be oxygenated environments. I think our imaginations–and our senses–are limited.
