First draft finished!

I’m feeling euphoric today. I have just begun revising the novel I started to make notes for in January before shelving it as not worth the effort. With so many finished, revised, rewritten and polished manuscripts that have never found a home, it seemed masochistic to write another big disappointment.
When I had a manuscript accepted for publication in September, I found the confidence to pick it up again. Maybe I could pull the same trick twice. It has been a complicated story to write, with different chronologies and threads set in several different historical periods (and places) so it was slow going. I wasn’t sure how each part was going to end, and how they were all going to be tied together right up until the last minute. Like this morning.
Well, they did, and the hard work is over. Now for the fleshing out and adding of details. I might post some excerpts, if I can find pieces that make sense on their own.

    1. Thanks Colleen xx Well, prose isn’t poetry, but I try to write well. I have no idea if this one will appeal. It’s not at all straight forward, so it’s likely nobody will touch it with a ten foot pole.

    1. I’ve only written it. Chances are it will never be published, but I’ll try to get someone interested in it. Once it’s revised I’ll be asking around for beta readers, so you can have look at it then if you like.

    1. I’ve just asked my next to youngest to read the opening chapters and she loved it (said she did anyway) and that I’d got the university at Bordeaux spot on. I’d worried a bit about that so, relief!
