This feels like a draft or the start of something. The Oracle gave me just the first line, so I might not have finished with this one yet.

Slipping away
The lake bends the blue of its arm out of sight,
not beckoning,
holding a secret in tight-closed fist.
Is it the heart of summer, she wonders,
wrapped cool in fir and larch,
or the bare bones of winter,
rattling amulets and relics?
Or is it the spring, lost and never to be found,
that meandered away, whistling,
with its pockets full of broken promises?
This feels like part of one of your stories. Maybe a spin-off character?

Funny you should say that. The first poem I wrote was all from the book I’m (still) proof reading. It was a bit rambling so I loaded some more words and the Oracle gave me the first line of this one. I don’t think it’s anyone I know, but it might come to me later 🙂

That is so funny. I guess I sensed it. 🙂

It definitely sounds like the start of something more. This is like a word collage, so many layers of mystery. (K)

The Oracle knows all the stories. She lets us have a glimpse of some of them and we make of that what we can. Another story if we’re lucky.

This ‘voice’ is so very much “you”. Lovely.
