The poem the Oracle gave me was to be expected.

Burning
Death drips slow as honey from this melting sky,
and the day-lit moon dissolves like a pearl in acid.
I watch yellow leaves drift in a restless breeze,
hot as deserts that pulls this way then that,
but always away from the green that fades
like a childhood memory, of sun shade dapples,
cool on the skin, of petals cupping morning dew.
And I hear the murmuring among the trees,
the papery voices of the dead and dying,
Who will be next?
All has to come to an end. But it will take some time before autumn will be back. Best wishes, Michael

I hope it´s not a real problem for you, Jane! I love summer so much, and you are in the South of France, right? Isn´t it the paradise? Best wishes, Michael

Your relentless heat seems even worse than ours…at least we are getting thunderstorms to break it up. It will only get worse, not better. The world’s leaders fiddling and fiddling away and away… (K)

It probably isn’t as bad as yours, it’s partly that we’re not coping well with the extremes. No a/c in homes or public buildings. Schools having to close, outdoor working stopped, that kind of thing. If I hadn’t been feeling bad already, it wouldn’t have been a trial. The covid seems to be over, the temperature is down to the low 90s and it feels just pleasantly warm.

Being sick in the heat does intensify things–I’m sorry you had covid. There was a lot of it around here earlier in the year (I had it myself) but lately it seems to have subsided.
I think the fact that you aren’t prepared for such high temperatures in a way makes it worse. And we have had breaks–like it’s in the 80s today. The whole world is just out of balance and we have caused it and are making it worse instead of trying to do something about it…

I’m sorry about the heat. I hope you find some relief before too long. xx

The heat is quite bearable now, thanks. It was 92°F today and will drop a bit more for a couple of days before rising again. It’s just a question of getting used to it.

I’m glad it doesn’t seem as bad to you. We had a little break in the heat and humidity, but the humidity is going to start going up tomorrow, and then there will be chance of thunderstorms again. I’m thankful for the a/c.

Heat, and then there’s heat — you have the latter. May it soon lift and allow cooler breezes to enter.
